FUNDACION PANIAMOR PRESENTS SOCIAL MAP RESULTS 2008-2009 TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH CARE MINISTRY, THE JUDICIAL INVESTIGATION FORCE (ORGANISMO DE INVESTIGACION JUDICIAL, OIJ) AND TO THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO STRENGTHEN INVESTIGATION AND PREVENTION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

  • Fundacion Paniamor wants to extend the line of the social map’s research on children and adolescent trafficking in 2010.
  • The activity was operated within the framework of the project Geographic and Social Mapping of Children and Adolescent Trafficking Routes 2008- 2009 (Mapeo Geografico y Social de las rutas de trata de niños, niñas y adolescentes 2008-2009) elaborated by Fundacion Paniamor and Save the Children Sweden.
The central focus of this drop of research is to publish the main discoveries of the social map within the Central Pacific Region in the course of the workshop performed in Jaco Beach from the 18th to the 19th of November in 2008.

The social map is a qualitative research technique which allows the integration of all these revelations from key informers out of the social and educational sector who have knowledge on social dynamic and on the institutional respond towards commercial sexual exploitation of minors.

The activity took place in the ex ministries hall within the Health Ministry on the 4th of November with 30 key representatives from San Jose and other regions.

In the event we were accompanied by Ms. Maria Luisa Ávila, Ministry of Public Health, Ms. Eugenia Salazar, Deputy Prosecutor of Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence, Ms. Milena Grillo, Executive Director of Fundación Paniamor and Mr. Jorge Rojas, Director of Judicial Investigation (OIJ) as well as Ms. Rosibel Moore, Strategic Planning of the Ministry of Public Health.
